Itadakimasu!

I like to think that my life is unconventional which yesterday's outing certainly proved.

It was Friday the 13th and I went to a Japanese restaurant with 3 other of my friends to have a pre-Valentine's Day dinner. Brinee was with Macams and I was with my date, Marisse.

Just so nobody gets this wrong, I do have a boyfriend. I haven't broken up with him nor am I cheating on him with a torrid lesbian affair with Marisse. He was just on duty.

Anyway, despite the rain and threatening Brinee with a painful death if she cancelled, (It's a Japanese restaurant! One thousandth of a lifelong dream here!) my smile was practically glued to my face as we were ushered to our table with loud greetings of Irasshamaise! (So cool.)

I was grinning from ear to ear, my pupils were dilated... I was surrounded by Japanese. People speaking Japanese. Bowing every other minute. A special feature on bonsai making on TV.

Bliss.

Then we ate.

And I was reminded that my love for Japan does not extend to sushi.

There were other stuff there that I liked. Like the tempura & egg rolls but raw food, particularly fish, really isn't part of my gustatory repertoire.

I can't wait to go to Japan. And eat candy.
