make 'em cry...

It's the second month of my Pediatrics rotation and I'm assigned to the nursery. I basically go with our resident to receive babies from the OR during cesarean sections and admit babies delivered via NSVD. Also examine them and do the Ballards scoring.

Funny thing about examining babies is that you are given license to push babies around and make them cry. And it is mandatory to make them fall for a few inches (see Moro Reflex). hehehe...

For the person who has no idea what parameters are needed for a Ballards scoring, you'd be horrified to see us pinching baby nipples, squeezing baby balls, and examining baby asses. Yeah, neonatal medicine is a really pervy practice. *snerk*

Pointless post but these things make me laugh and if I still remember correctly, this is still my blog. So there. =)
