LLB vs. MD

I was watching Ally McBeal reruns on TV and it was the episode where she sees the dancing baby. And then I noticed that TV lawyers tend to hallucinate. Not enough to render them incompetent. Just... entertaining. Take Ally McBeal for example. She does seem like a ditz but she's a fairly competent lawyer. It just so happens she, on occasion, has visual or auditory hallucinations.

Then there's
Eli Stone. Granted, his "hallucinations" are partly attributed to his inoperable aneurysms and partly due to some Divine Will rendering him prophetical in his choice of clients. But, hallucinations nonetheless. What I don't get though, is why he has to act like they aren't hallucinations. Good god, man. You do not have to dance when you're hallucinating people dancing. George Michael is not singing in your office lobby so it would be best if you do not clap.

So, lawyers and some level of psychiatric disturbance.

TV doctors, on the other hand, have some other kind of affliction. Either they're
brilliant assholes (House), child prodigies who blog all the time (Doogie Howser), or angsty, hormonal teens who aren't teens anymore (the entire fucking cast of Grey's Anatomy).

I guess too much studying
does fry your brain.

On a
stranger note, I used to know the dancing baby dance by heart. Creepy.
