As a kid, I spent a lot of time reading books instead of running around getting dirty. We had this encyclopedia set of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Knowledge. Everything was in it. Well, except the delicate nuances of human reproduction. ^_^
My favorite volumes were the ones about sea creatures and all sorts of weird animals. I'm just continually fascinated by the craziness that is Mother Nature. Did you know that monkeys in Japan bathe in hot springs during winter? They didn't start out like that. Theories abound as to how that came to be but the most popular one is that once upon a time, a monkey fell into the hot spring and saw that it was nice.
I don't like pets because I'm not really into domesticated animals. I am more fascinated by the weird creatures like the vampire squid, the Portugese man-of-war and the blue-ringed octopus. Clearly not pet material seeing as they could end your life. If I had the opportunity, I probably would go off and become an oceanographer. But I have a feeling I can't go scuba diving because I think I already have some degree of respiratory insufficiency secondary to my goddamned allergic rhinitis.
Hee... I'd like to see that on my patient record. Patient has goddamned allergic rhinitis.
Anyway, if you watch Discovery Channel at all, you would probably have seen their highly popular The World Is Awesome ad.
I prefer oceans to mountains and while I may not love arachnids, I looooooove the diversity of arthropods. Prefer not to eat them, though. Loving the song, by the way. I thought there was a shift in the melody in the last chorus line but when I saw the video, I realized it was just Stephen Hawking's version of singing. LOL!
It's my mobile ringtone for the moment so call me and I'll answer after a full minute. *snerk*
