I was downloading episodes of The Big Bang Theory when the internet connection switched from "Wow, that was fast!" to "You think this'll be done by Christmas?". So, might as well blog about... well, anything. Warning: topic hopping.
BIG BANG THEORY:
Dennise made me watch this series but I've only seen the first episode. But that was enough for me to realize I liked it. You see, I have a condition called nerdophilia. I am strangely attracted to nerds. Even if they aren't hot nerds. Because there are hot nerds. (see Henry from Ugly Betty season 2). My history of nerdophilia dates back to 1989 when 7 year old me was drooling all over Doogie Howser saying, "The patient has a murmur of mitral insufficiency." Later, my crushes turned out to be class nerds but the social hierarchy in the Philippine educational system is different from that in the States. Nerds here could also be the bullies and the campus hearththrob, all at the same time. First boyfriend was an International Studies student who was named after a Lebanese writer. Second boyfriend was a Philosophy student who had a webcomic. Third and current isn't the stereotypical nerd but he was top 3 in my class during medical school. And he really wasn't even trying very hard.
Now, it comes full circle to me going gaga over Barney (How I Met Your Mother) played by Neil Patrick Harris (who played Doogie Howser). He plays a playboy in the series but he's still kind of nerdy. He has countless theories and actually wrote a Bro Code that reads like the constitution. He's being a player, nerd-style. *hypothetical fist bump* (The fact that he's gay... not a deterrent.)
Connection's getting fcky. Let's continue this some other time.
