I kept a diary in high school. I like to read it every now then because it always makes me laugh and I find out something new everytime I read it. I was so afraid that somebody would read my diary that I wrote the secret secret stuff in such a cryptic way that now, even I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.
My diary really wasn't a work of literary genius. I was writing about my life experiences the way a researcher would document squid migration and mating. Very detailed. Right down to who sat next to who while watching what movie and who bought what for snacks. But in any case, it makes for a delightful read for someone who wants to reminisce about the teeny-bopper years.

January 3, 1996Actually, she doesn't want to acknowledge that this guy even exists. Come to think of it, I never even met the guy.
Dennise has a crush on her soon to be first boyfriend.
October 30, 1996Do they even do that on actual blind dates? Now I'm wondering if we gave the guy a poem to recite or if we expected him to come up with one of his own. *snerk*
Today's the last day of the Founding Anniversary. I had fun blind-dating Marisse to _____. They were so... so.... PATHETIC. She wouldn't sing. He wouldn't say a poem.
December 12,1996What is it with the poems? Anyway, we had exchange students from Korea, the Park twins. All the boys went gaga over them. More for Patricia actually. The night prior to the twins' departure, a lot of the boys got in trouble for staying out really late to hang out with the twins. And of all the places in the city to hang out with the current love of their lives, they had to choose the McDonald's parking lot. How romantic.
Well, the boys have been writing a POEM... no, make that POEMS, all day. And they're dedicating it to none other than the Park twins.
April 14, 1997I'm not sure if she's not acknowledging this one either but I'm pretty sure I met him. And he was teasing me to this guy. In all fairness, I did have a crush on the guy but still, practically announcing to the world that I was desperate to talk to the guy is so not cool.
Dennise and the 2nd boyfriend.
April 29, 1997I sound rather droll for a 13 year old. Trust the nerd to specify that he was sitting beside my feet and not just say, "He was sitting near me." Or like, in the vicinity.
I'm waiting for Dennise to call because I need to know if she's coming to practice or not...
P.S. Lord, let her come. Pleeeeease!
(There may be a continuation to this entry later though)*** later ***Well, I went to practice without Dennise. Anyway, during practice, he was sitting right beside my feet! (Oh, how exciting...)
April 13, 1999Yes, far. Thank you for the explanation.
They were holding hands and laying their heads on each other's shoulders. (They took turns. Doing that at the same time is physically impossible.)
