Mansions

Maybe it depends on my mood. Today, I'm feeling very lighthearted, which is probably why this supposed-to-be-touching quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is making me laugh.

"The friend within the man is that part of him which belongs to you and opens to you a door which never, perhaps, is opened to another. Such a friend is true, and all he says is true; and he loves you even if he hates you in other mansions of his heart."

He loves you even if he hates you in other mansions of his heart. Hee...

Although right now, I am hating someone in the other mansions of my heart.

(It's Marrion. Don't tell.)

Corpusian Memories

Back in high school, I kept a diary. Old school blogging in a sense. I was reading the entries and some of them had me weeping with laughter. At one o'clock in the morning.

However, this particular one had Dennise ROTFL.

"During Values class, Marrion wrote on my forehead with chalk."

Just so you know, I don't let people write on my forehead with chalk. Marrion's just an ass. Everyone has a mortal enemy in high school. Mine just stayed with me until I passed the medical board exam. My relationship with Marrion has been entertaining my friends for years.

Speaking of high school memories, Dennise told me of this thing that happened in 2nd year Biology class that I don't remember but I think is so totally typical of me.

(Scenario: Farina is chatting with a seatmate,
not paying attention to class)

Teacher Vicky:
Farina, what's going on? Would you like to share
what you are talking about to the whole class?

Farina (the smart aleck):
I was just wondering if Alpha Centauri is brighter than the sun,
considering that it is the brightest star.

Teacher Vicky:

Uh...

I am the coolest nerd. By present standards.
